Become a Friend of the Market Today! Our collective vision is being ushered closer to reality because of the generosity of partners like you.
Farmers' markets have never just been about food; it's about sovereignty, dignity, and the power of collective care. When we gather under the canopy of the Ypsilanti Farmers Market, we do more than exchange goods; we build an economy that centers people, not profit. Food assistance and advocacy through the Ypsilanti Farmers Markets is crucial in building food sovereignty, promoting healthy lifestyles, and reducing hunger.
Last season, our market facilitated over $215,000 in local food sales, helped 100 children explore new fruits and vegetables through the Power of Produce (POP) Club, and ensured access to six types of food assistance, resulting in 17% of all sales were made using food assistance.
This year, the market will move downtown to Washington Street. We are deepening our roots in the heart of our community, honoring our commitment to community, and continuing to invest in a food economy that ensures fresh, culturally relevant food is accessible to all. This is what self-determination looks like because the future is local.
