Four Roots Ranch is a family-run animal sanctuary in Bend, Oregon. We care primarily for alpacas and llamas, along with a small number of sheep, goats, and other farm animals who've needed a safe place to land. The majority of our residents are seniors.

In 2017, we took in twenty rescue alpacas, thinking we were simply giving them a soft place to settle. They became part of our family almost immediately, and over time, the work grew from there.

In 2019, Four Roots Ranch became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Today, more than 100 animals call the sanctuary home, and we are one of the largest sanctuaries in the U.S. dedicated to alpacas and llamas.

The animals we've taken in are often older, disabled, overlooked, or in need of a slower, safer life. Some have come from difficult situations. Some have come from families who loved them but could no longer keep them. However they arrive, our goal is the same: steady care, dignity, and a home for the rest of their lives.

We also help beyond our own gates when we can. We offer guidance on care, feeding, housing, herd dynamics, and rehoming options, because a lot of people want to do right by their animals and just need somewhere to turn.

Four Roots Ranch is still run by our family. It is our home, our daily work, and the place where animals are seen, known, and cared for, however they arrived.
