Every day, countless veterans and their families struggle with the invisible wounds of military service; PTSD, depression, anxiety, isolation, and the loss of purpose that can follow years of sacrifice. These challenges affect entire families, not just the individual who wore the uniform.

Freedom River was created to change that.

Freedom River exists to provide veterans and their families with a place to relax, recover, rejuvenate, and reconnect. Here, they find more than beautiful outdoor spaces, they find community, encouragement, understanding, and hope.

From fishing along the Huron River and hiking scenic trails to gathering around a campfire, playing pickleball, attending wellness programs, or simply sharing coffee with fellow veterans, Freedom River is helping restore lives one family at a time.

But we're just getting started.

Our next step is building the Freedom River Wellness Center; a year-round home for healing that will provide counseling, peer support, wellness and fitness programs, family activities, financial education, and other resources designed to strengthen veterans and the people who love them.
