Scott Zitzloff's Story

To those in my life who have witnessed the testimony of God's unfailing love for me,

I can say with the utmost certainty that this letter will be the first of its kind from me, but its also with a heart full of hope that there will be many more letters just like it in the years to come. I used to dread the idea of asking for help. I saw the world and judged the full weight of it as something I could shoulder all on my own. My own pride even saw that feat as not only attainable, but noble and necessary. While the God of my youth is unchanging, He is also a God capable of great change in the hearts of His children. In His immense mercy He allowed me the consequences of my pride and in His wisdom waited both actively and patiently as sin took a firm hold in my life. Just like sin does, it infested, stole, and spread. It led to years of suffering under the weight of addiction and all the pain it brings. I grew weaker, more selfish, and even hopeless. I would claw may way into treatments again and again as my family and friends prayed desperately.

And then... the Gospel. I finally landed in a treatment surrounded by brothers in Christ who held up a mirror to my sin. Who in love, and through scripture, showed me that not only did I fall short of upholding my life on my own, but Jesus made it so I didn't have to. God had led me right to the waters of repentance and then it all changed. I found sobriety and more importantly, Joy.

So today I get to come boldly asking that you consider supporting the ministry of Spring2Life. It is a faith-based addiction recovery center for men in Woodbury, TN. In 2024, God brought me and my family here to serve. It may not be the treatment center l attended but the aim is the same. To join with other believers to bring the hope of the Gospel straight into the center of every life that walks through the door. I am no stranger to the sacrificial generosity of others and how it impacted my ability to get the help I needed. While God is able to do all the work necessary in a heart, we also know that he has called the saints to join in the work of making disciples, and to steward what he has gifted us well. So, I ask that you prayerfully consider whether this might be a ministry that you feel called to donate to.

Humbly,

Scott Zitzloff
