I am running because my story is the story of so many families in our community.

I’m a proud Chicana, a daughter of working people, and someone who was raised knowing that community is how we survive and how we thrive. I learned early that systems don’t always work for us, and when they don’t, it’s our families, our kids, and our elders who pay the price.

I’ve spent my life organizing, building, and fighting for spaces where our people are seen, heard, and valued, not as statistics, not as problems to be solved, but as human beings with power, culture, and dignity. Whether it’s advocating for students, supporting families, or creating community-centered programs, my work has always been rooted in one belief: decisions should be made with the community, not about us.

Right now, our world feels heavy. Families are under pressure. Trust in institutions is low. And too many people feel locked out of decisions that directly affect their lives. I’m running because I refuse to accept that this is the best we can do.

I believe leadership should be accessible, accountable, and grounded in lived experience. I believe joy, culture, and care belong in our public spaces. I believe our kids deserve systems that protect them, invest in them, and honor who they are.

I’m not running for a title, I’m running to bring our voices into the room, to ask hard questions, and to make sure our community’s values are reflected in the decisions being made.

This campaign is about pride over fear.
People over politics.
Community over convenience.
