BDI is locally led, corruption-resistant, and deeply mission-driven. But great programmes do not run on goodwill alone. They run on evidence, strategy, and the institutional capacity to attract and manage the resources that development work demands.

Our Research and Partnership programme is the institutional engine behind all eight of BDI's programme areas. It funds the studies that prove what works. It builds alliances that enable scale. It stewards the relationships that turn one-year projects into decade-long movements.

In 2024, BDI completed three research projects that reached over 3,500 farmers and households. Our findings directly shaped programme design, informed donor proposals, and fed into national advocacy. We are targeting 2 more studies by the end of 2026, along with 3 new strategic partnerships. We need the resources to get there.
