CuddleCot Donation - In Memory of Lilah Doreen Hemlick

Hedy and I are doing a fundraiser to earn money to donate a Cuddle Cot in honor of our baby girl, Lilah Doreen. I have included a link below that discusses what a Cuddle Cot is. For those who don't know our story, it's below. Thank you in advance for your support and generosity!

On June 20th, 2024, our lives forever changed. Hedy was 26 weeks and 4 days pregnant when she felt a decrease in fetal movement. Hedy had an anterior placenta which made it hard to feel movement until later in the 2nd trimester, however, she felt something was very off that day. After eating food, drinking liquids, and lying down, she still hadn't felt movement, so we rushed to labor and delivery. When we got to the hospital, the nurse and doctor began to look for our daughter's heartbeat. After what felt like an eternity, we were told the worst possible news...our baby girl had passed away. That was the moment our world completely stopped.

Hedy was then admitted into a delivery room to be induced. After 15 hours, she gave birth to our beautiful daughter, Lilah Doreen Hemlick, on June 21st, 2024. Lilah was born at 11:27AM, weighing 1 pound 9.8 ounces and measuring 13 inches long. Lilah had a head full of brown curly hair and a round button nose. She was absolutely beautiful.

Soon after she was born, the nurses brought in a Cuddle Cot, which is a device that allows parents to spend more time with their child by using a chill pad to slow down the natural changes that happen when you have a stillbirth. The Cuddle Cot allowed us to spend the next 24 hours with Lilah and hold her as much as we wanted to. We will forever cherish that time that we were able to spend holding her and looking at her.

Unfortunately, not every hospital has a Cuddle Cot, so we want to donate one in honor of our daughter so that other parents in this situation can have the chance to spend as much time as they need with their child.
