There are 2 simple words that I’ve been meaning to tell you – thank you.

While these words can’t fully express how much your generosity means to us, the support that we’ve received from you and others in our community has our entire team feeling nothing but absolute gratitude.

From the bottom of our hearts, we are truly furever grateful to you for caring so deeply for homeless pets, as well as pet owners who have fallen on the hardest of times in our community.

Because of you, this year we received the prestigious honor of Nonprofit of the Year by the Tempe Chamber of Commerce and were named “Best Pet Rescue” by Phoenix Magazine in their Best of the Valley Issue.

Because of you, here’s what we have accomplished in just the first 8 months of 2024:

Our Rescue & Adoption Program: rescued 26% more pets than this time last year—and 2023 was already a record-breaking year!
Our Food Bank Program: provided over 88,400 pet meals to families, a 29% increase from this time last year—which was already a record-breaking year!
Our Temporary Care Program: has given over 13,000 days of temporary pet care and safety to pet owners in crisis – whether escaping domestic violence, facing homelessness, or undergoing medical treatments. 44% more days of care than this same time last year.
We are furever grateful and proud of our partnership with Tempe First Responders, who have 24/7, 365-day access to our shelter to ensure the pets they encounter on duty are brought to safety. They have already brought us more pets needing help than in all of 2023.

While 2024 isn’t over yet, it’s already proving to be a record-breaking year for us and quite honestly, one of our most challenging in our 16-year history. For every pet we place in a loving home, even more arrive in need of our care.

Our shelter is packed with pets. We’ve put them in every safe nook and cranny and have asked every foster we know for help —so don’t be surprised if you end up fostering a pet next! On any given day, we help an average of 300 pets, providing them with the love and care they deserve.

Unfortunately, this record-setting year also brings record-setting costs associated with saving these sweet, homeless fur babies – costs for medical care, food, staffing, and supplies. Not to mention, our exhausted team is feeling the sheer intensity of it all.

Yet, our team members will tell you that the hardest part of it all are the pets and people we aren’t able to help due to limited resources.

With that spirit in mind, we want to finish the year off strong continuing to help and care for as many pets as we possibly can! That’s why I am once again asking for your help.

We urgently need to raise $70,000 to cover the medical costs for our beloved pets.

With an average cost of $191 per pet for basic medical care (spay/neuter, full set of vaccines, and a microchip), your support goes a long way and is critical in ensuring pets receive the care they desperately need to thrive. We can’t do this crucial work alone.

Your donation, whether one-time or monthly, makes a life-saving impact. Monthly gifts are especially powerful because they guarantee that no matter how many pets come through our doors, we can count on recurring funds to keep every single one of them alive and well cared for.
