Every year, students and veterinarians come together at the Veterinary Leadership Experience (VLE) to develop skills that go far beyond veterinary medicine. At VLE, participants build resilience, discover their authentic voices, and learn how to lead with empathy, courage, and confidence.

Since VLE began in 2004, two students from every single vet school have been invited to attend for free or for a deeply discounted rate. This includes schools in the US, Canada, Caribbean, Australia and Europe! For VLE 2025, that amount will be $175 for early registration and $250 for late registration. It costs significantly more than that for each student to be there. The full tuition cost for each student is $2000. We have been able to subsidize the cost for each student through corporate sponsorship and donations from VLE sustainers.

In recent years, the cost of the program has risen significantly. Not only has the cost per student increased, but there are also several new veterinary schools in our country and we want to invite ALL of them to send students to VLE.

We're asking for your help to be able to continue to offer this program to two students at every school at this discounted rate. We know that the lower the cost to veterinary schools, the more students will be able to participate in VLE. We want as many students as possible to have access to this program so that we can have a big impact on the profession.

Over the next month, you can help us by setting up a monthly donation. Our VLI leadership team has stepped up and agreed to match your donations up to $1500 per month! If we meet our goal, this will raise $36,000 in the next year, which will provide us the opportunity to cover 18 student spots at VLE.

How your contribution can help

$22/mo ($264 annually) will cover the program fee (small group activities) for one student.
$36/mo ($423 annually) will cover meals and a spot in a cabin for one student.
$58/mo ($687 annually) will pay for one student to sleep, eat and participate in small group activities.
$125/mo ($1500 annually) will cover the honorarium and travel stipend for one facilitator.
$167/mo ($2000 annually) will cover the full cost for one student.
$250/mo ($3000 annually) will cover the boat rental fee for the dessert cruise on the final night of VLE.
