Museum School Courtyard Brick
Celebrating 75 years and planning for the future - The Fort Worth Museum School is undertaking renovations of the classroom courtyard and garden, enhancing opportunities for students to learn outside. By resurfacing the classroom courtyard and amending existing structures, Museum School will expand its existing usable outdoor learning space, making the entirety of the area accessible to students of all ages and abilities. The courtyard is an extension of the classrooms, and by creating more usable space, students will have even more opportunities to conduct experiments, engage in hands-on learning, and enjoy outdoor play. The Museum School Garden renovation will continue to honor the legacy of Jeannie Wolfe, Museum School Director, from 1993 to 2012. The reimagined outdoor space will spark curiosity and love of our natural environment. The space will serve as an opportunity for students to engage in unstructured outdoor play, fostering a love of nature and inspiring all those who enjoy the space to learn and grow. Project Goals: - Create an enriched outdoor learning garden that caters to students - Extend the learning experience from indoor classrooms to a vibrant outdoor setting. - Emphasize the development of gross motor skills and STEM learning in an outdoor setting.
