Dance Under the Sky

Dance Under Sky is a vibrant, multicultural celebration of folk dance that will bring together children and youth from diverse nationalities, religions, and age groups to perform on Brighton Beach in May 2026. This four-hour event, part of the city’s Open Culture program, is free and open to the public. It will showcase a series of folk dance performances as well as hands-on workshops led by experienced instructors from Folk Dance Club Kaleidoscope. Dance schools serving children and youth and specializing in folk dance will be invited to participate. The project aims to use the universal language of dance to build community, promote cultural awareness, and celebrate the rich heritage of NYC’s immigrant and ethnic communities.
