Empowering Her Destiny's mission is to support Black girls in self-discovery and self-confidence. One of the ways this is done is by making sure that we remove any barriers, which may hold Black girls back from accessing these attributes. For our Back to School Drive this year, we are focusing on an issue, which effects 1 in 5 girls in their girlhood. This issue is Period Poverty.

Period Poverty is not having enough finances to afford the essentials that one needs during their cycle. According to Always, a feminine product line, 20% of girls have experienced period poverty. Of this 20%, 84% have missed school because of this issue.

We know how important education and attendance are for girls and we want to remove barriers by donating period kits to local schools. In each kit will be:

A Journal to support mental health during menstrual cycles.
Affirmation Cards and Love Notes from EHD girls.
Menstrual Products
Toiletries
Healthy Snacks
Bottle of Water

This year, we want to donate a total of 100 kits to schools in Maryland and North Carolina. Will you help us?

Donation Levels

$100 Covers Kits for 5 girls (At this level, donors will be recognized in our social media marketing materials)

$300 Covers Kits for 100 girls (At this level, donors will be eligible for (1) free ticket to one of the Fundraising Galas hosted by EHD+recognition in our marketing)

$600 Covers Kits for 200 girls (At this level, donors will be eligible for (2) free tickets to one of the Fundraising Galas hosted by EHD+recognition in our marketing)

$1,000 Covers Kits for 100 girls for the next 3 years through our program (At this level, donors will be eligible for (3) free tickets to one of the Fundraising Galas hosted by EHD+recognition in our marketing)
