The Los Angeles Forum for Architecture and Urban Design is an independent nonprofit organization founded in 1987. The L.A. Forum provides a platform for established and emerging creatives to engage with each other and a broader community in Los Angeles and beyond on significant issues, addressing natural, built, and social contexts. Through events and publications that are educational, inspirational, and hands-on, the L.A. Forum highlights how architects and designers are transforming the city. We aim to provoke thought, inspire action, and unite an enthusiastic community of residents invested in the future of Los Angeles.

Early, and often free, access to L.A. Forum events, such as panel discussions, exhibitions, and architectural tours. Some recent events include:Every.Thing.Changes. The 2020 summer exhibition presented 20 new works documenting the collective views of life in Los Angeles in its new decade, by a select group of emerging designers and thinkers.

Under the Influence, a series that brings international and local architects/designers into conversation on the influence of Los Angeles’ modernism, in iconic spaces of that era.Fleischmann residence house tour and talk. The L.A. Forum is known for tours of architecturally significant houses and buildings in the L.A. area.

Delirious L.A. email: a semi-monthly roundup of architecture-, design- and urbanism-themed events in the Los Angeles area, alternating with interviews of impactful creatives. Recent interviews include Frances Anderton interviewed by Hadrian Predock on multi-family housing, and Dr, Dana Cuff on spatial justice and housing insecurity. Archived interviews are available here.

Early access to L.A. Forum publications and productions, such as our annual newsletter, books, and our podcast, Five Places L.A., a living documentary of the city.
