A By Nerds For Nerds Burlesque Festival in Florida, bringing parody & creativity together with sparkle in a safe inclusive space for diversity & ethical entertainment! 

We need funds to have two nights and two days of competition, performances, workshops & guest lectures. This will be Florida's ONLY ethically paying nerdlesque festival to complement other already thriving successful nerdlesque & burlesque competitions across the country, but with a focus on education, growth & joy!

This event will bring performers and audience members near and far, to be an after hours attraction for our city as an international event, with quality entertainment. With hopes to be an annual event as part of our tourism, festival and arts industries in FL.

This is meant as a way to give back to the burlesque/nerdlesque & cosplay community with a means to encourage artistic growth and the joy of self-challenging your inner artists with accessible knowledge from international reaches via guest stars, judges & legends with the workshops and experiences of working/competing and witnessing performances from all involved.

All funds go to paying the following:

• -Venue costs.
  -Paying each performer, emcee, stage kittens, & judges the states going rate of $125 per production(there's two nights of shows)
  -Paying Crew/stage-hands, diversity consultants & selection committee members ethical pay, or livable wage for hours worked.
  -any costs needed to keep the festival accessible, not just for able-bodied persons.
  -workshop/lecture costs for instructors(ranging from judges, headliners and even potential living legends of burlesque)
  -security to check ID's & protect performers.
  -The physical awards themselves for titles won, or accolades awarded by judges.
  -advertising & other misc production costs to put on the festival

This is NOT a PAY to PLAY FOR FREE festival. This is not "a pay, work for free then to hope to win a small cash prize" pageant. The Florida Nerdlesque Festival understands that artists are WORKING even if competing for titles and accolades, no matter their experience or history level or interest level. Even Hobbyists deserve the experience and to get paid for their work.

The selection committee will consist of experienced professionals who come from historically excluded communities to uphold our ideals of "representation matters."

Our Producer/Owner doesn't even get a salary or profit. Our Producer/Owner will NOT be on the selection committee to encourage the ethical selection of artists to compete.

Everything goes to the cost of putting on the production without making anyone perform or work for free. This encourages performers and artists to be able to afford to invest quality into their acts and careers while not taking away their means to live.

All cast & crew/involved with the event will be carded, over the legal age of 18 & everyone will follow the county blue laws.

Additional funds will be sought through sponsorship with local businesses to get more of the community involved!Any profits after PUT ON NEXT YEARS FESTIVAL!!!!
