Established in 2022, the Coast Film Foundation unites the outdoor and ocean communities through the power of film and storytelling. We showcase films and bring together filmmakers, professional athletes, artists, and changemakers whose work celebrates adventure, inspires curiosity, and sparks meaningful conversation.
Our programs recognize exceptional films and creators, amplify stories that matter, and cultivate community through events that encourage engagement and collaboration. We are committed to making a positive impact—locally and globally—by championing stories that drive social and environmental progress.
We also invest in the next generation of storytellers through youth programs, grants, scholarships, and filmmaker support initiatives, fostering a deeper appreciation for film and the transformative role it plays in creating a better world.
In 2025, with your support, we:
✨ Inspired 30,000 people through community events, screenings, and our annual festival
🎥 Showcased 200+ films and raised $35,000 for filmmakers through grants, production support, and fiscal sponsorships
🎓 Provided scholarships, mentorship, and opportunities to emerging filmmakers and students in our local schools
🌱 Partnered with educators, scientists, storytellers, and artists to reach thousands of students across Laguna Beach through school sessions and Stewardship Day programs
🌊 Connected our community with mission-aligned nonprofits like Surfrider, Pacific Marine Mammal Center, Laguna Canyon Foundation, and others through the Do Good Village
And during the nine-day festival alone, over 10,000 people were impacted across film screenings, workshops, panel discussions, youth programs, community events, and outdoor activities.
