Thank you to every single person who donated, shared, and amplified this campaign! The Givebutter donations combined with generous pledges from local groups like Tucson Abortion Support Collective (who donated $5,000!) made it possible to free Tyesha last Friday. Anything we raise above the Givebutter goal of $5,000 will be donated directly to Tyesha to help her rebuild her life. This fundraiser will officially close at 4:30 PM MST on Monday September 18th.

On August 7th, Tyesha Wayne defended herself from her abuser. Rather than seeing Tyesha as a survivor of domestic violence, the Pima County Attorney’s Office has chosen to charge this Black mother with first-degree murder. Self-defense is NOT a crime. Tyesha is currently being held at Pima County Jail on an excessive $150,000 bond. The Praxis Project/Tucson Bail Fund have launched a fundraiser to raise $5,000 of a $15,000 10% non-refundable bail bondsman fee to get Tyesha freed from Pima County Jail. Anything raised above our goal of $5,000 will go towards helping Tyesha and her children rebuild their lives. Thank you for beliveing this Black survivor Tucson. <3
