Dear Family and Friends of Sierra Waldorf School,

As we make our way toward the season of Advent, a sense of finding light and gratitude in the darkest of places arises. This warm, generous light is what we, at Sierra Waldorf School, hold in our hearts as well. There are numerous ways to be overwhelmed by the darkness in our world, so we asked ourselves where do we find the light and how can we shine toward the future?

For us, the light shines in our school's ongoing efforts toward social renewal. We can hearken to the goodness of the future through social renewal, a concept crafted by Waldorf founder Rudolf Steiner harnesses the power of creativity and imagination to create new social forms that activate, inspire and sustain individuals and communities in service to the healing of society and the Earth. We honor the ways in which our school is answering this call: 36 years of good working to keep this education accessible to families in Tuolumne, Calaveras, and Stanislaus counties. Through the work of brilliant parents, teachers, and supporters, Sierra Waldorf School has graduated 313 students who carry this light in the form of curiosity, compassion, critical thinking, and integrity into the future of our world.

With this, we ask you-our community- in this season of giving, to reflect on the task at hand. What actions can you take right now toward social renewal for the days ahead? One way which would have lasting impact is by donating to the goal of raising $75,000 for our Annual Giving Campaign. With your support, the light for the future will continue to burn, illuminating our path forward.
