Jim & Colleen Copple created Servant Forge in 2005 as a way to help their children and grandchildren have opportunities to serve and develop leadership skills. That mission has expanded over the years to bring empowerment to millions of people in Kenya through a variety of programs including:

Gender Based Violence Programs: No More Bystanders, University GBV Policy Development
Sustainable Agriculture: Hope Farm for Women in Lodwar, Kenya
Wings of Hope Women's Counseling Center and Income Generation Projects for survivors of gender-based violence in Lodwar, Kenya
New Scent: A Safe Home for children who are sex abuse survivors
Annual empowerment and healthy relationship training for 1 million Scouts (girls and boys ages 9-21 years)
Annual Leadership sailing retreats for Kenyan leaders
Girls education scholarships and providing computer education in Nairobi slums
Providing education, employment alternatives and housing for women and children working as trash pickers in Dandora Dump (second largest in the world)
A number of projects in the Kakuma Refugee Camp in Northwestern Kenya, near Lodwar

We are fortunate to have Irene Kimani, our East Africa Director for Servant Forge Kenya over the last 10 years, joining us for this event.

Irene helps set the vision and carries out the implementation of a number of compelling and exciting development projects incubated in Servant Forge Kenya. She provides support to the Servant Forge Kenya Board of Directors, is a master at navigating the complicated systems of East Africa, and ensures that no corruption is able to flourish in any of our programs. She serves as a monitor and consultant to a number of Kenya-based projects with international donor partners, researchers and others.

Irene is a professional accountant with more than fifteen years of experience in financial management. Irene is a qualified accountant with a bachelor’s degree in business management from Moi University, Eldoret, and also is a Certified Public Accountant. She is an exceptional leader and communicator, confident and able to work within a challenging environment.
