Hi everyone!

This month Florida Club Rowing will compete at the American Collegiate Rowing Association (ACRA) Championships in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, on May 15-17th. ACRA is our national championship, the race we spend all year training for! Since finishing up the school semester, our dedicated rowers have spent the last two weeks practicing on Lake Wauburg.

Last year at ACRA, UF placed 1st overall in the Men's Varsity Quad category. This year our team will be sending our Men's Varsity 8, Women's Varsity 4, Men's Novice Lightweight 4, and our Women's Varsity Single! We are forecasting a competitive ACRA after the results our team saw this season. At Sarasota 2k our Women's Double placed 2nd and our Women's Novice 8 placed 1st, and at SIRA this past month, we saw our Women's Varsity 8 place 3rd overall in their event.

Getting the chance to go to ACRA is very important to our team, however, the costs per rower for this event have been steadily increasing over the last few years. Currently, each rower is slated to pay $285. We are looking to help subsidize some of these costs so that we don’t ask as much from rowers for this championship season. The entire team and I are extremely privileged to have you all as a support system for us, and we cannot thank you all enough for continuing to support our goals this year. Row Gators!!
