The mission of Harbor House is captivating to me. We provide a safe place for opportunities, resources, and relationships to be shared so that children, teens, and families may flourish. Each day is a new adventure of how we will live out that mission. Our city, our country and our world have seen a lot of pain, violence and crime. It can be overwhelming at times to look for places of hope and joy. But I get to see these glimmers of hope and joy daily at Harbor House. I see it in our staff, our donors, our volunteers and our board constantly making good on our commitment to see our families, our students and our little corner of Oakland flourish. I see it when our families know they have someone to turn to. I see it when our kids come running to us to show us their report cards. I see it when someone knocks on our door and says, "Someone told me to come here". I believe that at Harbor House, I get a front-row seat to see the movement of God in our families, our students and our city. If you would like to be a part of seeing this work.
