This summer, Children Mending Hearts is turning up the volume on our 4th annual back-to-school event in Watts with Going Back: The Remix.

What started as a simple backpack giveaway has grown into a full-day celebration for children, families, job seekers, and community members returning home from incarceration. We are going back to school, back to work, and back to basics by providing essential school supplies, life-changing resources, and support for those starting fresh.

The average family now spends nearly $900 per child on back-to-school clothing, supplies, and electronics, which is out of reach for many families we serve.
Our event provides real relief and opportunity to families in need.
With your support, we will distribute more than 250 fully stocked backpacks and host dozens of resource vendors offering support in education, job development, reentry, childcare, housing, and more.
