Support Girl Talk

A girl’s confidence peaks at the age of just 9 years old, and continues to decline during the formative years of middle school and high school. As girls enter high school, they become twice as likely as elementary school girls to believe they are not smart enough or capable enough to pursue their dream job. Additionally, a recent CDC report outlined the crisis teen girls are facing, with nearly 60% of female students experiencing persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness. This continues to impact our society and could explain why only 5% of Fortune 500 companies are led by women. Data also shows that developing strong, healthy, and trusting relationships during adolescence helps girls access support and believe they have others in their life that they can depend on, and that is why our peer-to-peer mentoring model works. Mentorship is not only crucial for young leaders to develop the self-esteem and support system they need to succeed, but has also been proven to positively impact mental health outcomes for both mentors and mentees.

Girl Talk is the Solution!

We create spaces both digitally and in communities where young people are empowered to lead while giving the opportunity to put their leadership skills into practice. Girl Talk programs, centered around our unique peer-to-peer model, have allowed girls to live confidently, lead fearlessly, and support one another for 21 years. And we are just getting started…
