Floyd was only 10 years old when he first showed up in our No Cost Grocery Program line, alone.

Every week after his first visit he would return and wait in line with others in the neighborhood.

Every week we would provide him with a warm meal and a collection of nutritious food and pantry staples to take home.

Slowly, other neighborhood kids began to follow. Slowly, our No Cost Grocery Program line became a safe gathering space for young men of color in the Sun Valley neighborhood.

Now, many of those neighborhood kids who gathered in our No Cost Grocery Program line are weekly attendees at our Kid’s Cooking Class, where they build confidence in the kitchen while learning to prepare healthy, nutritious meals.

Our No Cost Grocery Program gave Sun Valley youth and their families food.

Our Kid’s Cooking Class provided community and belonging.

Gifts like yours are what keep the line open and the kitchen full. Just $25 provides the hot meal given out during our No Cost Grocery Program to a family of four.

We are thrilled to kick off giving season with this request: Give, so good food is a given.

Join us and help us continue to ensure our neighbors of all ages can gather around a warm holiday meal, either at home or in our kitchen.

Thank you for being a vital part of our community and for your generous support this holiday season.

Together, we can make sure good food is a given.

Gratefully,

Sun Valley Kitchen and Community Center
