My $25 Matters

Charleston is full of many nonprofits doing incredible work, walking with people through poverty, homelessness, addiction recovery, mental health challenges, and special needs. But the truth is, they don’t have the capacity to meet the scale of need in our city.

Even with all the generosity and compassion around us, our charitable ecosystem isn’t yet equipped to handle the long-term challenges families face. The result is that the organizations doing the most effective, development-focused work are often maxed out, struggling to get the support and resources they need to continue walking with people over the long haul. At the same time, too many of our community’s resources are poured into short-term fixes instead of being directed toward lasting solutions.

What’s missing is structure, pathways, equipping, and connection.

That’s where Shared City comes in.
We are building the capacity of Charleston’s charitable ecosystem, equipping nonprofit leaders, connecting donors, and supporting volunteers so that, together, we can strengthen the whole system. When the ecosystem is strong and resources flow toward effective practices, the impact multiplies. Families don’t just get help for today, they gain the opportunity to truly thrive.

This fall, we’re inviting our community to Give $25 to Build a Shared City.
Our goal: 200 people giving $25/month, creating $5,000 of steady monthly support to fuel this capacity-building work.

Your $25 doesn’t just meet a short-term need, it builds the long-term strength of Charleston’s charitable ecosystem, making real change possible across our city.

👉 Be 1 of the 200. Give $25/month today and help build a Shared City.
