As I enter my 10th year at Las Casas, I feel a huge sense of pride at what we have accomplished. We have a record number of 55 volunteer teachers, which enables us to serve more students than ever before. Our Student Advisory Board fosters meaningful student leadership and elevates student voices in our programming. Most importantly, our community of students is like a family – Las Casas is a place of belonging, acceptance and hope in what may feel like a hopeless time. In the face of threats and intimidation directed at immigrants in this country by the incoming administration, our incredible student community continues to show up ready to learn – working to build a better life for themselves and their families.
With so much at risk for our students in the coming months and years, Las Casas remains committed to providing the support and resources they need. We will continue to work with our community partners to educate and empower our students – expanding our impact beyond teaching English. Working to inform and protect our students gives me a sense of purpose, and I find so much hope in seeing their smiling faces each night.
In these uncertain times, we are called to action – Join me in supporting these hardworking and dedicated individuals. No amount is too small! Donate Here to support our program. Thank you for believing in our mission and giving to support our work.
