As many of you know, one of the most rewarding activities I have done since retiring from Kaiser is to teach English as a Second Language through a wonderful organization called Las Casas. Every Tuesday night I teach a lovely group of appreciative, motivated young adults, who come to learn English up to 3 evenings a week, generally after working all day, caring for their children, etc. This year, more than ever, I feel the need to support immigrants who are working hard to better their lives and the lives of their families. Please join me in donating to Las Casas, a non-profit which operates on a shoe-string budget and helps not only teach English, but to build community.
