Story
On Tuesday, November 29, 2022, the Berwyn Fire Company will participate in the annual global generosity movement of GivingTuesday. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, Berwyn Fire Company joins millions worldwide participating in this annual fundraising initiative to inspire others to give.
GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement that unleashes the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and their world. GivingTuesday will kick off the generosity season this year by inspiring people to give back on November 29, 2022.
Berwyn Fire and EMS have always relied on fundraising donations to help our organization offset our annual operating budget. Our largest funding source is the income we receive from billing patients for ambulance transportation. Unfortunately, insurance companies reimburse patients directly, and many individuals fail to forward those funds to us – a problem that only becomes magnified when families are experiencing economic hardships as we continue to navigate the post-pandemic life and increased inflation.
“Our overall fundraising donations are DOWN 10% from last year. Your support is greatly appreciated to make our largest fundraising a success! As a volunteer fire company and non-profit, The Berwyn Fire company relies on donations from the community to help fund our emergency operations. We hope you’ll consider making a donation to our GivingTuesday fundraiser or making an end-of-the-year contribution as we close out 2022,” Tom Torresson, President of Berwyn Fire Company.
The Berwyn Fire Company greatly appreciates the support of the Tredyffrin-Easttown community to keep our fire and EMS operations running smoothly. We could not do this without the support of you and this amazing community we are proud to serve.
