At CJ’s Smile Foundation, our mission was inspired by the life of CJ Delfosse. CJ, a vibrant and joyful eight-year-old, was diagnosed with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma in 2019. He was passionate about gaming, soccer, and spending time with his family and friends, always radiating energy and laughter.

CJ's journey through cancer treatment was a difficult one, including 42 weeks of chemotherapy and six weeks of radiation. Despite the challenges, his tumors showed positive responses, giving us moments of hope. In the summer of 2020, CJ was briefly cancer-free for two months, but the cancer returned, requiring more intensive treatments, including chemotherapy, radiation, and a tube placement. His treatment was cut short due to fluid in his lungs, but he managed to reach remission again for another two months.

In September 2021, we received the devastating news that CJ’s cancer had relapsed and was now deemed incurable. An allergic reaction to further chemotherapy forced us to shift our focus to ensuring his comfort. By January 2022, an MRI revealed the cancer had spread to his bones, and CJ endured intense pain, with his days marked by rest and loss of appetite. On January 30, 2022, CJ's brave fight came to an end.

CJ’s courageous journey, filled with love, strength, and resilience, leaves behind an enduring legacy. He will forever be our HERO. Through his foundation, we aim to raise awareness about pediatric cancer, provide financial support to children fighting similar battles, and spread as many smiles as possible along the way.
