Jana’s journey actually began less than five months ago, but has become an accelerated ride!

Experiencing a horrible toothache in September, Jana’s visit to the dentist resulted in detection of a mass in her throat.  The appointment with her doctor sent her straight to an emergency room; she was diagnosed with pharyngeal throat cancer involving the lymph nodes just seven days later.

Surgery to install a chemo port happened quickly thereafter, as did insertion of a feeding tube to be ready when necessary.   Almost immediately the feeding tube became infected, requiring emergency surgery, a three week hospitalization, and postponement once again of her chemo and radiation treatments.

Jana tearfully and graciously appreciates the support, prayers and kindness of family and friends.  She faces each day reading verses from the Bible she has written down, adding to the list daily.

Jana and her husband David both graduated from CHS in 1987 – Crosbyton is stepping up to provide financial support for this family, and a fundraiser is planned for Saturday, April 27th.  If you are willing to help, please contact Martha Kirk at 806-778-2987, Ashley Morris Faber at 806-224-5540, or Mary Parkhill at 806-549-3457.  Also, follow Jana’s Journey on Facebook.
