If you believe in mercy, forgiveness, redemption, and rehabilitation, then you believe in me! With 21 years of lived in experience I can attest to the impact that RISE not only had on me on the inside, but also as I transitioned to a new found freedom on the outside! If there's one thing for certain, it's that we need the many services which RISE offers, whether that be from their in-prison program, re-entry services, or the family wellness collective; we need them!

At the tender age of 17 I was arrested for a crime which subsequently turned into a prison sentence of 40 to 60 years. Hitting the fast forward button, here we are nearly 23 years later. Looking back at the time spent incarcerated I can honestly say that the last seven years of my sentence were the most impactful because of RISE! In that reflection, the only thing that was consistent was RISE, they stood next to me at some of the most crucial pivot points that I have ever been faced in my life. Their continued belief and trust in me has now carried over to employment with them as a family program associate! Proving that if you believe in mercy, forgiveness, redemption, and rehabilitation, then you believe in me!
