Established in 1983, SELF, Inc. works to end homelessness in the Philadelphia region. Everyone has the right to safe, affordable, permanent housing; to earn a livable wage; to be connected to family; to be connected to the community; and to achieve successful independent living through personal development and supportive transformation. SELF, Inc. advocates for sustainable change, addressing social determinants of health, which can improve outcomes and reduce homelessness, substance abuse, and incarceration.

SELF uses a holistic approach to social change in our program models to serve as a national model for innovative programming that prevents homelessness, supports recovery from substance addiction, and assists those experiencing homelessness or those who are on the verge of experiencing homelessness.
