Here at Giving Connection we believe giving is the most important verb in life. While most are gearing up for the holidays and buying presents for their loved ones, we hope you will join us as we give back. We believe in the great work all nonprofits are doing, so this campaign is just a reminder you to give back to any and/or all of your favorite causes this Giving Tuesday (but we sure hope we are amongst your favorites)!

We are currently working with a web developer to create our platform and make Giving Connection a reality. On this Giving Tuesday, our goal is $2,222 (Get it? Twos-day) which equates to 40.5 hours of developer work! Whether it is $2 or $22 this #GivingTuesday, every little bit helps us reach our goals and continue to improve our platform.

Our mission is simple, to connect people with nonprofits in their communities using a search tool designed to make living and giving simpler. Our vision is a world where finding help and serving others is easy. While the path forward is ambitious, we are up for the challenge.

Our Founder, Stephanie Morrison, has been dreaming about Giving Connection for over a decade. As a public defender, she witnessed the devastation and trauma inflicted on those surviving poverty. Poverty, systemic racism, homelessness, mental health, addiction, immigration concerns, sexual trauma, childhood trauma and physical violence were among the list of issues facing each client navigating the criminal justice system. She often acted as a social worker, connecting her clients to the resources they desperately needed. But she knew there had to be a better way to put the power and autonomy back in the hands of her clients before their lives were in crisis.

Communities are best positioned and most knowledgeable about how to help their members. We believe that people know what they need and nonprofits are already doing the hard work, they just need a place to connect. We envision Giving Connection as a one stop shop for all your philanthropic needs - from beneficiaries to volunteers, donors to supporters. This search tool would form the foundation to help nonprofits and communities build stronger connections with people.
