As we soak up the sun and make lasting memories with loved ones this summer, let's take a moment to consider those in our community who face challenges that diminish their ability to fully experience the joys of the season. Older Bostonians living in public/affordable housing often have limited access to transportation, language barriers to navigate, and few have family members nearby. Many are simply alone in their homes. This is exactly why LBFE Boston brings fun and friendship directly to older adults, in their preferred language, right in their building’s community room and nearby senior centers. We help prevent isolation by creating intergenerational communities through weekly social, digital literacy, and creative arts programs and providing cross-cultural opportunities for older adults and Boston's college students to create mutually beneficial, joyful friendships. *Up to $7,500 total
