From Craig Martin:
When we were kids my Mom, Gladys Ola Martin, would work alongside her husband, Jack, directing us to help pack bags of food and toiletries for prisoners in Thailand's prisons. I remember we would usually take on this task as a family during special holidays.
But, prison work for Mom and Dad was a year-round ministry. They worked at the Baptist Student Center in Bangkok, which they loved. The prison work was challenging and yet fruitful. One of their mentees in the prison ministry was Acharn (Pastor) Soonthorn. Acharn Soonthorn still oversees the work and expanded it to create a training center and dormitory for ex-prisoners and their families called House of Blessing. I was fortunate to film the work at House of Blessing for The Good Road a PBS docu-series. With my friend and co-host, Earl Bridges, we captured the work inside the 2nd largest maximum security prison in Thailand, Klong Prem Central Prison. More importantly, we were able to highlight The House of Blessing. Up until the time Mom passed she personally gave money to the House of Blessing for her and Dad because she felt like the work being done was powerful and impactful.
If you want to honor our Mother financially, please consider donating to this important ministry in Thailand.
Thank you.
