I am tapping into my professional networks to raise money for GLITS to buy and lease real estate to provide housing to Black trans people being released from Rikers. I am inspired by their bold vision of securing sustainable, long-term investments for serving Black trans people. As a community of health care providers, we know that housing is one of the strongest social determinants of health and well-being. In NYC, even the most basic housing has become a luxury, and even more so for those who are most marginalized in our society. I urge my colleagues to help me help GLITS make this happen!
