Our Mission

At Impact Horse, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to experience the wellness benefits of bonding and connecting with horses. Founded in 2023, we are a Maine-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to improving lives through equine-assisted education, wellness programming, and community outreach.

As home to Maine's only qualified team of therapy-trained miniature horses through the American Miniature Therapy Horse Association (AMTHA), we bring unique, mobile experiential learning directly into our communities.

Why This Campaign Matters 🐴

Many of the children, families, and individuals we serve have limited opportunities to interact with animals or participate in hands-on educational experiences. This fundraising campaign directly supports our Miniature Horse Education & Youth Wellness Outreach Program, bringing our therapy-trained miniature horse team—including Toast and our newest addition in training, Muffin—to schools, libraries, youth organizations, assisted living, memory care units, and healthcare facilities throughout Maine.

Through these mobile visits, youth and adults develop critical life skills, including:

Animal welfare and responsible animal care
Mindfulness and emotional regulation
Communication, confidence, and social engagement
Empathy, kindness, and compassion

How Your Donation Helps 💖

Your generosity—at any level—ensures that mobile equine-assisted wellness remains accessible to those who need it most. Every dollar raised directly funds:

🚚 Community Outreach Visits: Fueling transportation to schools, libraries, and low-budget assisted living facilities.
🍎 Horse Care & Welfare: Providing top-tier care, nutrition, and veterinary support for Toast and Muffin.
📚 Educational Materials: Creating specialized curriculum materials focused on empathy and animal welfare.
⛑️ Safety & Operations: Funding volunteer training and safety equipment to keep our community visits secure and impactful.

The Year of the Horse (2026)

The Year of the Horse is a symbol of strength, healing, and forward movement. We are actively building sustainable pathways to bring comfort, connection, and joy to individuals with limited access to equine wellness programming.

Other Ways to Partner with Us
