First, thank you to everyone who has signed up to give monthly, made a donation, volunteered, shared the fundraiser, or come to a show. Your support has helped keep Glow Hall going, and I’m grateful for everything people have put into this venue.

Just $20 a month. The equivalent of 150 people giving that amount covers the basics.

That’s $3,000 a month for rent, utilities, insurance, and our domain and website hosting. With support already in place, our current ask is 122 more people giving $20 a month for six months.

As of now, despite our best efforts, it looks like last Saturday, October 24, was our last show unless we can get enough support in place this week. I’m still working to find financing, and monthly donations could give us the time we need to keep going while that happens.

Together, we’ve brought local musicians and touring artists to the same stage, hosted films, benefits, and gatherings, and made a place where people of all ages can be part of it. I’ve seen what Glow Hall means to people in our music, arts, and queer communities. I want us to have the chance to keep building on that.

With those basics covered, I can continue bringing six to eight shows a month to Glow Hall and offer the venue to local businesses and organizations at a deeply discounted, approachable cost.

We’re asking people to pledge by Sunday, November 1, to give monthly for the next six months. If you can give $20 a month, or another amount that works for you, please select Monthly and make your first gift by Sunday.

Become a Glow Hall Sustainer

Give $20 a month or more and pledge to continue for the next six months. Once we secure the funding needed to keep Glow Hall open and programming resumes, sustaining members receive:

One included admission each paid membership month to an eligible Glow Hall show. Eligible shows will be announced in member updates. Reservations are subject to capacity; special events and third-party rentals are included only when specifically listed. Unused monthly admissions do not roll over.
An invitation to our members-only celebration once funding is secured and a date is arranged, then a members-only gathering every three months while the program continues. RSVP required; dates and capacity will be announced.
A digital member card, early show announcements and ticket access, and optional public recognition as a Founding Sustainer.
A quarterly programming conversation or poll so members can share what they would like to see at Glow Hall.

If you already give monthly, you don’t need to sign up again. Please let us know if you can continue for the next six months. Thank you for already being part of this. As a thank-you, all current monthly supporters will receive these benefits for the first six months, including those already giving less than $20 a month.

We’ll email member cards and check-in details before the first eligible show. Bring your member card or latest Givebutter receipt; door staff will check that your membership is paid and mark that month’s admission as used. Benefits continue through the period already paid for.

At $20 a month, six payments total $120. Monthly gifts continue until canceled. If you want to stop after six gifts, cancel through your Givebutter donor portal after the sixth payment. You can cancel at any time.

Monthly support recorded October 29: 27 active plans providing $563 a month. Our target is 122 more people at $20 a month, bringing monthly support to $3,003. The counter at the top tracks funds received toward the first-month $3,000 goal; monthly commitments are tracked separately.

Help us reach people beyond Kalamazoo

Think of someone beyond your usual local circle who cares about art. Maybe it’s an aunt in Pittsburgh who would love to know her $20 a month could help keep an artist-run, all-ages venue going. People don’t have to live nearby or attend shows to help make this possible.

Reach out personally to a few friends or relatives. Tell them why Glow Hall matters to you, share this campaign link, and ask whether they could give $20 a month for six months, starting by Sunday, November 1. Let them know that their support helps preserve six to eight shows a month and an approachable venue for local businesses and organizations.

If giving isn’t possible, sharing the fundraiser helps too. I appreciate everyone who’s helped us get this far.

Christopher
