Story

You are invited to a very special Yappy Hour!

You are invited to join Gateway Pet Guardians (GPG) at a special, complimentary yappy hour at our Pet Resource Center on Friday, September 16 from 5:00 - 730pm. Join us for drinks, appetizers and a behind the scenes look at the day of the life of a shelter vet, led by our very own Dr. Sarah Frei. This yappy hour is part of our larger Beyond Rescue 2022 event, which is a hybrid online and in-person event to create an inclusive fundraiser that brings in our talented ambassadors, volunteers, supporters and community. One component is a crowdfunding virtual fundraiser that utilizes matching gifts to increase the impact of everyone’s gift. We will conclude with the "Field Day Frolick," which is an in-person event on Sept. 17 from 11am-3pm to celebrate our building's past, our pets and the hard work of our supporters. Please note that because alcohol is being served, this yappy hour event is for ages 21+ only.

Speaker: Dr. Sarah Frei

She received her doctorate in veterinary medicine from The University of Missouri-Columbia in 2008 and has been a practicing veterinarian ever since. Her background is primarily in shelter medicine and animal welfare, and she also has experience treating owned pets. Sarah shares her home with one cat, a handful of snakes/lizards, and two wacky Australian Cattle Dogs (Karl is pictured).
