On December 18th, Cathy was online Christmas shopping and having a pretty normal day. Until she felt dizzy, was attempting to walk downstairs to use the bathroom and had instead fallen flat on her left side & began seizing violently down her entire left side body. She was rushed to the ER via ambulance. She had a lot of imaging done which revealed 3 large tumors in her brain on the right side, as well as a lot of freckle-like masses throughout the entire brain.  Due to the partial seizure and the swelling that these tumors had in her brain, she had lost mobility and strength in left leg & left arm. More imaging showed more lesions (cancer) that spread into her  lungs, chest, gall bladder, liver, spine at T12, and in her abdomen in the peritoneum. A biopsy on her liver proved that this is the same type of breast cancer she had fought through in 2016. This diagnosis of stage 4 breast cancer is not curable, but it is treatable. She has completed radiation treatment on her brain and it has shown to improve her strength & mobility in the left side, she is able to use a walker to get around but is still not completely independent and is unable to walk upstairs or return home. She is scheduled to begin chemotherapy to treat the rest of her body this week, and we need to figure out a safe housing option for her at this time. Your donations will support her medical expenses, assisting living costs, and any additional support/equipment she will need throughout this challenging journey. Your support means the world, thank you.
