As many of you know Jeanine’s journey, began soon after she was born. “NeeNee,” as we call her, was born with a rare genetic illness, a mitochondrial disease with an unknown prognosis and no cure. This disease impacted Jeanine’s major organs and caused severe developmental delays. She is nonverbal and unable to communicate her basic needs.

Undoubtedly though, NeeNee is a living angel. She brings us joy and love like no other. As a Mom, it’s those days when you see an improvement, those moments when hard work has its reward, and you can taste success, it’s then you realize that love, compassion and top notch care are the most important things to provide your angel, and NCFL is the best at it!! NCFL makes sure her voice is heard…they enrich her life and help her move closer to the task at hand.

NeeNee has been in residential care since age 15. She came to New Concepts at the age of 25 and her life, and our lives have dramatically changed for the better.

Through many years of tears and difficulties, we knew if we found an organization with special people who offer her that perfect combination of comfort and stimulus to grow, we would be very fortunate. The staff at NCFL are those wonderful companions that walk with our loved ones through life and help all of us define and refine who we are and who we choose to be every day.
