WordPlay Connects provides free books to young West Virginians and connects them with authors, illustrators, and books to inspire a lifelong love of reading. Our Big Dream is to nurture lifelong readers in our corner of Appalachia through free books, programs, and events that make a difference in young people’s lives. We believe that helping young people discover new stories and build robust home libraries, filled with books they love, will have a positive, lifelong impact not only on them but also on their families and their communities.

Through book giveaways, school visits by authors and illustrators, and family events in our community, we place books into the hands of children and on their shelves at home.

But we need your help...

All of our $103,000 budget goes into reaching children and their families with our signature programs. Our largest expense is purchasing the new books that we give away.
