Harry’s Hidden Acres is named after our Founder’s beloved Quarter horse, Harry, who was found abandoned in a field over a decade ago. Harry acted as the “mayor”, welcoming new horses home and providing them with a sense of security at the farm. He was a beautiful horse in appearance and temperament and provided many happy and peaceful hours to Emily, while cementing in her a tremendous desire to help all animals. This new organization represents the evolution of what was an informal sanctuary and rehabilitation center.

We work collaboratively with our care team, including our veterinarian, Equine dentist, Farrier, and various complimentary health care practitioners to rehabilitate the animals we take in.
Our goals are, first, to bring them to a healthy condition through diet, medical and first aid treatment, then to ensure they can be handled safely by professionals.
We build on that foundation of health working to earn their trust and to show them that we, and other humans, will provide safety for them.
By working with them conscientiously we help them to learn how to become good citizens.
We are constantly assessing their physical and mental condition while schooling them, to determine if they are candidates for adoption.
If they cannot be adopted due to their past history of abuse or their physical condition, we provide lifelong sanctuary and a safe and secure future for them.
Please visit our Fundraisers page to learn more about us and to meet our beloved herd. While each campaign shows a fundraising goal, our purpose for displaying goals is to show the approximate annual cost for each of our horses. All donations will be shared across all of our critters, unless you specifically direct your donation to one horse (you can do so in the comments).
We hope you enjoy browsing our stories and that you are moved to support our mission. We can only do what we do with your support. It's easy to make donations through Givebutter because we can support almost every form of payment. Also, because you can make a choice to cover processing costs ALL donated amounts come to the animals!
Our ambassadors are Frederick and Al - always the first to greet visitors but all of our kids LOVE people and are happy to meet you. Here are a few photos of our kids.
Please reach out with any questions or if you'd like to visit. We know that children with special needs have a natural connection with our horses and benefit from meeting them and our horses love it!
We are happy to meet you by appointment.
Best wishes,
Emily and Mary Kay
