All proceeds from this erg-a-thon will go towards the purchase of a new boat! This purchase is part of a massive push to establish a sustainable plan for the renewal of our fleet, selling our oldest boats to make room for new ones on a regular schedule. Through this plan it will allow us to keep our rowing shells regularly updated, to ensure all of our athletes are in the best possible equipment.

Jackson-Reed Crew (formally Wilson) is the oldest high school rowing program in the District of Columbia and remains the only public school rowing program in DC. Our team consists of over 100 student-athletes and fields four squads: Varsity Boys, Varsity Girls, Novice Boys and Novice Girls. In addition, Jackson-Reed Crew also offers a Learn-to-Row program for DCPS middle-school students. During our erg-a-thon our team will work together to erg a collective 1 MILLION METERS! This is equivalent to driving from DC to Chicago.

Our team hosts fundraisers like this, since Jackson-Reed Crew receives no funding through DC Public Schools or Jackson-Reed High School. Instead, Jackson-Reed Crew is a 501c3 nonprofit organization (Tax I.D. 46-0878484). Fundraising and team operations are managed by the Jackson-Reed Crew Booster Club Board responsible for raising all of the funds necessary to operate Jackson-Reed Crew.
