Meet Buck – A Sweet Boy from Georgia

Buck’s journey began in a small shelter, where limited staff and resources made it hard to provide the care he desperately needed. He soon found himself on the euthanasia list because the shelter was full. Despite the challenges, Buck’s spirit has remained unbroken—his tail still wags, and his eyes shine with hope.

DIAGNOSIS:
After his initial wellness check (~$1,000), we learned that Buck has hip dysplasia, lame right hind leg, otitis externa - bilateral and a ruptured cruciate ligament.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN:
Buck will need surgery on BOTH hind knees (left and right at two different appointments). In addition, he will need to maintain a healthy weight and later in life will develop arthritis. This can be managed through joint supplements and pain medication.

HOW CAN YOU HELP:
We are asking for donations to help with the cost of surgery and recovery. Buck is currently in a foster home and patiently waiting for when both of his surgeries can be scheduled (late summer/early fall). Once his surgery and recovery period (~2 months) has passed, he will then be available for adoption. Buck's foster grandma has sponsored his adoption fee because Buck is an exceptional dog and would love a forever home.
