Supporting Reproductive Health
ealth Care Education and Training (HCET): Your Partners in Reproductive and Sexual Health
Our reproductive and sexual health experiences and decisions shape us as humans and impact our families and communities. For over 30 years, HCET has partnered with healthcare providers, educators, parents, youth workers and their organizations across the Midwest to deliver evidence-based, person‑centered reproductive and sexual health education. HCET's work is universal but has a special focus on those too often overlooked—youth in foster care, people navigating incarceration, and communities facing barriers to care—and those serving them.
Why Your Support Matters
HCET’s work doesn’t stop when the classroom empties or the training ends. It’s about creating lasting change—sustaining programs, policies, and practices that empower individuals, equip professionals with practical strategies, and strengthen the systems that shape health outcomes for generations. Our upstream approach to advancing reproductive and sexual health ensures that entire organizations and communities can create programs and policies that are sustainable in the long term.
What We Do
- Adolescent Health: HCET works with partner organizations across the Midwest to implement positive youth development and health education programs, with a focus on foster care and juvenile justice.
- Maternal Health and Pregnancy: We train and support the workforce that serves pregnant and parenting people, with a focus on women who are living in under-resourced families and communities, and those that are court involved and/or incarcerated.
- Reproductive & Sexual Health and Aging: We provide skills-based education and training to healthcare providers, educators, and the public health workforce.
- STI/HIV Prevention: HCET works alongside organizations and communities to deliver evidence-based, destigmatizing STI/HIV prevention strategies, ensuring accessible and highly skilled providers.
- Person-Centered & Trauma-Informed Care: Through the Midwest Trauma-Informed Training Center (MTITC), HCET provides in-person and virtual training and resources for healthcare professionals.
