New Recovery/Sober Home

DeMalia’s House of Hope is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Connecticut's most vulnerable populations suffering with mental illness and substance abuse. The organization serves communities such as our veterans, elders, the disabled, minorities, and those experiencing homelessness. The organization’s approach is rooted in two core evidence-based practices: Trauma-Informed Care and Cultural Competency. Through the application of the Strategic Prevention Framework, DeMalia’s House of Hope customizes its programming to meet the unique needs of each client, ensuring both effectiveness and long-term sustainability.

Our first home has been established and opened effective December 1, 2025. We are beginning to fill the six beds we have. Sadly, we have had to turn away three homeless individuals already because they were unable to afford a weekly financial obligation. Multiple sources have informed me that Connecticut has not set out an RFP for state beds paid for by the state's Medicaid program in multiple years. No one who wants treatment and relief for an addiction should be turned away and have to sleep outside in these temperatures. We thank you for taking the time to read what we are about. God Bless you for any support you are guided to provide.
