Celebration of Hope of Western Massachusetts invites you to stand with your neighbors.

We are a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit built on a simple belief: when cancer turns a family's life upside down, the people next door can help carry the load. No one in Western Massachusetts should face a diagnosis alone, and with your help, no one has to. We are not a hospital or a clinic. We are neighbors, and this fall we are gathering the whole community for one evening of prayer and hope.

A Healing Mass will be at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, 123 William Street, Springfield, on Friday, September 25, 2026. Prayers begin at 5:30 pm and Mass follows at 6:00 pm. Fr. Giuseppe Maria Siniscalchi, CFR, a Franciscan Friar of the Renewal, will celebrate the Mass. Springfield's Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, serves as Honorary Chairman of the evening. If you have never attended a Healing Mass, come as you are. It is a Mass with special prayers for healing of body, mind, and spirit, and no one needs an invitation beyond this one. We pray for everyone whose life has been touched by cancer and other serious illness: those in treatment today, those in recovery, the caregivers who hold everything together, and the loved ones we carry in memory. Scripture tells us, "the Lord is close to the brokenhearted" (Psalm 34:18). On September 25, we want every one of those hearts to feel that closeness, surrounded by a city that shows up for its own.

Your gift makes the evening possible and carries the mission forward. All proceeds benefit the Sister Caritas Cancer Center at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, where so many Western Massachusetts families receive their cancer care. Nothing leaves our region. Every dollar stays close to home: the center that treats our neighbors. It is a simple model that works because neighbors show up. Gifts are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law. There is a place for you in this work whether you can donate or not. Attend the Mass and stand with families in prayer. Volunteer at the event, or spread the word in your parish and neighborhood. Bring your business or parish alongside our families as a partner. However much time or treasure you have to offer, it reaches a family in treatment right now.
