We took this kitten in after someone found him outside. He’s around 6–8 months old and honestly… way too sweet to have been out there. Like, he was sleeping next to a kid his first night inside. Just fully trusting. His name is Basil.

He’s been dealing with eye issues, so we brought him to an ophthalmologist and he was diagnosed with entropion in his left eye. Basically his eyelid rolls inward and it’s constantly rubbing on his eye. It’s uncomfortable and can turn into something worse if we don’t fix it. The vet recommended surgery. They also said we may want to do the other eye at the same time so we don’t end up putting him through this again later.

We’ve already spent $428.05 just on the consult, and this isn’t something meds fix, and it needs surgery with a specialist. We’re expecting it to be around $1.5k–$2.5k between everything (procedure, testing, meds, follow-ups).

We take in a lot of cats, but this one’s just… different. He’s easy. He just wants to be near people. It sucks that after getting off the street, this is what he’s dealing with.
