Help Mickey Get Back on His Paws

🐾 4/20/26: Mickey Update: One Step Closer to Answers

We have an update on Mickey 💛

He is officially scheduled for his exam and CT scan in Omaha on Thursday, May 21—this is a huge step toward finally understanding what’s causing his pain and how we can help him.

To move forward, we’ll need to pay $1,200 upfront at the start of his appointment, with the remaining balance due later that same day. The total estimate is currently $1,200–$3,000.

In the meantime, Mickey is taking it easy—shorter, slower walks and Carprofen twice a day to help manage his pain. While he’s getting by, this isn’t the life he wants… Mickey is an active, happy boy who just wants to run, play, and be himself again.

We’re so close to getting him the answers he needs—we just need a little more help to get there.

Mickey is the kind of dog who lives for movement—running, playing, and soaking up every bit of life with joy. But right now, he’s hurting.

After showing signs of limping on his front left paw, Mickey was seen at Tea Veterinary Clinic, where X-rays revealed significant mineralization in both elbows along with swelling in his front legs. These findings were concerning enough that a specialist reviewed his case and is now recommending further diagnostics—including a full exam, bloodwork, and a CT scan—to better understand what’s going on and how we can help him.

Right now, Mickey is on strict limited activity and taking Carprofen twice daily to manage his pain. For a dog who just wants to run, this has been incredibly hard.

Before we can move forward with the CT scan, we need to raise $1,200 upfront to cover the initial exam and begin the diagnostic process. The CT itself is estimated between $1,000–$3,000, on top of the care he has already received.

We know answers are out there for Mickey—we just need your help to find them.
