Zelda is only four years old, and she has spent most of her life seeing the world as blurry shapes and shifting shadows. She isn’t in complete darkness, but she cannot see clearly enough to move confidently or safely. Faces, steps, toys, and even other dogs are just outlines to her.

Her previous owner loved her deeply, but when her juvenile cataracts progressed and the cost of treatment became overwhelming, they made the heartbreaking decision to surrender her to our rescue so she could finally get the care she needs.

Zelda arrived gentle, loving, and trusting — full of sweetness despite living in a world she can barely see.

After her evaluation with a board‑certified veterinary ophthalmologist, the specialist confirmed that Zelda is a strong candidate for cataract surgery. With successful treatment, she could regain meaningful vision for the first time since she was a puppy. She could finally recognize the people who love her, move around without hesitation, and live the full, joyful life she deserves.

• Total Possible Cost: Up to $8,265.69

For a small rescue like ours, this is a tremendous financial undertaking — but for Zelda, it’s life‑changing. Our rescue will be covering a portion of her care, and we are asking our community to help us raise $5,000 toward her surgery.
